Afro Dance (modern fusion) practiced today involves rhythmic body movements, grounded footwork, high energy grooves & steps, all of that combined with slow or up tempo African music. A very lively style of dance to practice and perform! There are many forms of Afro Dance depending on the different cultures and countries of the African continent, but its foundation particularly comes from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Originating in the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica, Dancehall is a grounded but energetic and empowering style of dance that has become immensely popular and you will often see it in mainstream videoclips such as: Rihanna , Justin Bieber and Major Lazer.

In this class you will learn some techniques from both of these styles; pelvic and body isolations, basic steps, try out some more advanced movements and a booty shaking routine so get ready to sweat!

COME WEARING: comfortable clothes – barefoot.
