This is an introduction to the beautiful world of Indian Classical dance, focusing on Odissi, the graceful style from Orissa, East India. Steeped in devotion and discipline, full of fascinating history, Odissi is a complete mind ~ body ~ spirit learning. We will talk about the history of the dance, and learn the foundational movements. Be prepared to sweat and push your limits! Combining strong footwork and graceful arms, you will get a full body workout and challenge your coordination.

COME WEARING: comfortable yoga style clothes, preferably long leggings and a "choli" top or t-shirt. We will lend you a sari! – barefoot.
